From the ‘First Family of Bordeaux’ the famous Jacques Lurton competes with his cousin Pierre at St Emilion’s greatest estate Chateau Cheval Blanc, to craft the world’s finest Cabernet Franc.

Drawing on my long-standing relationship with Jacques, and after attending the Masters of Wine Symposium that he organised along with Fiona Morrison MW in Bordeaux last year, I’ve persuaded him to release a small allocation of his globally revered wines from his twelve hectare private estate on Kangaroo Island, the ‘Waiheke’ of Australia, off the coast of Adelaide.  This prestigious wine is available exclusive to a select handful Fine Wine Delivery Company customers.

Cellar Journal – 2008 Bordeaux “classic and outstanding wines that represent excellent value”

Hi from Matt,

We have just landed our shipment of Bordeaux from the 2008 vintage that Robert Parker describes as “classic and outstanding wines that represent excellent value.”

The wines came direct from Chateau, were trucked and shipped in a refrigerated container and are now safely resting in our temperature controlled cellar.  As lovingly-shipped imports, direct from Chateau they are well-priced and are in perfect condition.

The Finest Vintage Prestige Champagne Selection

Welcome to the first of my new-look Cellar Journal.  The weekly Cellar Journal is a culmination of a full week of tasting, judging wine shows, meeting with winemakers, talking with importers and overseas suppliers, and visiting wineries.  It is a very personal expression of the very best wines I can find to offer you each week. Hopefully you’ll find this style more personal, to the point, and easier to read.  I welcome any feedback or comments.

With the festive season coming up quickly my thoughts have turned Champagne.  This week I’ve been researching and buying special Champagnes to bring home to enjoy on special occasions and celebrations over the next few months; unsurprisingly, one of the most pleasurable tasks I’ve performed in my new job.  I put in several hours research as I knew that I mustn’t be alone in my desire to make sure I had plenty of great Champagne on hand and wanted to be able to share the knowledge of my discoveries.
