Cellar-Aged Burgundy Clearance

Hi From Matt

This week, it’s all hands on deck at The Fine Wine Delivery Company as we hold our Famous End of Financial Year Wine Sale (Click here to be directed to the wine sale page of our website)

Meanwhile, during our March stock-take, I noticed we have a sizable parcel of 2006 Burgundies languishing in our temperature controlled cellar coming up to optimum drinking at 6 years old.  It’s sale week so I thought it would be a great time to make some room in the cellar, and find some happy homes for these beautiful cellar-aged Burgundies.

To clear them quickly and free up space for our imminent 2009 Burgundy shipment, I’m selling them for original cost.

Rewarding $25 Burgundy experience; even for the more discerning drinker!

“The 2009 Bourgogne Passetoutgrains, from vineyards in Morey, offers terrific quality at this level.â€
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Hi From Matt

The Cellar Journal is devoted purely to finding the very best, most inspiring wines for your cellar.  I search the wine world for wines that resonate with me, then communicate about them as clearly as possible so that you can make informed decisions about whether they will appeal to you.  The quality is undeniable, it’s up to me to talk about them in a way that you can identify whether or not you will enjoy them in terms of style and character.

This week’s offer is something a little different, an affordable Burgundy for weeknight enjoyment.  Fine wine is my passion and I enjoy great bottles whenever I can.  But on Monday and Tuesday nights, I like to drink something less cerebral and more hedonistic.  Lately, I have been savouring the 2009 Passetoutgrains from my new favourite Burgundy domaine, Taupenot Merme.

“Altesino’s single-vineyard Brunello, Montosoli, is the legend-maker for the estateâ€
96/100 James Suckling

Hi From Matt

I’m very pleased to offer you the legendary single-vineyard Altesino Brunello di Montalcino ‘Montosoli’ 2006.

Brunello di Montalcino and Barolo are the most majestic wines of Italy.  While Barolo with its cru system and perfumed, minerally wines resembles Burgundy; Brunello Montalcino with its aristocratic structure and deep brooding complexity that deepens with age, is the spiritual twin of Bordeaux.  Sangiovese reaches its maximum ripeness here, giving fuller, richer wines than anywhere else in Tuscany.

For the first time in 15 years you won’t find Penfolds in our March brochure

Posted by Lisa on March 5, 2012. Category: Wine News — Tags: , ,

I’ve personally experienced over 30-vintages of Penfolds Bin red wines and worked for them in Australia for ten wonderful years 1985-1995. No one in NZ knows these wines better than I do, has been exposed to so many vintages or whose business has been at the forefront of championing them to the top of the shopping list for so many red wine drinkers.
