 Domaine Taupenot Merme
The Rising Star of Burgundy

Small, exceptionally well priced and very exciting offering of 2009 Vintage Burgundy

“What a difference a generation makes? Although tradition is key to the Taupenot-Merme estate (it goes back to the 1760s), the changes being made early last decade have catapulted them to the top echelon of Burgundian vignerons,”
Toni Fadnes, Vinogusto

“Their style of wines focuses on elegance and purity.”
Wine Spectator

Hi from Matt,

I am delighted to offer you the outstanding 2009 village Burgundies of Domaine Taupenot Merme.

Burgundy and Bordeaux are the Queen and King of the wine world respectively, the two greatest wine regions on the planet.  Burgundy is the home of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, still producing the world’s finest examples, the yardstick by which all others follow.

Hi from Jeff,

On Wednesday night I had the pleasure and privilege to host a very special dinner in our FWDC Cellar Lounge.  Canapés followed by 4-courses interspersed with Amuse, Cleanser and Cheese platter served up by Michelin Chef extraordinaire “Phillip Reynolds” of Difference Catering. The matching wines came from my cellar; which incidentally were poured throughout the evening by Sir Michael Hill (golfer-businessman) and myself.

Best ever $100 Brunello – 94/100 Tanzer… like Grand Cru Burgundy

“If you buy one $100 Italian red this year, this should be it.

The best value for money Brunello I’ve ever tried ”
Matt Deller, FWDC Wine Programme Director

Hi From Matt

I’m very pleased to offer you the stunning Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2006.

Lovers of Burgundy and indeed any great Pinot Noir should experience the silken texture and savoury textures of Brunello – the great red wine of Tuscany.  To say that this wine is an enjoyable tasting experience is a huge understatement, I opened it with the downstairs team last night and they were spellbound.   It has the beguiling complexity and sumptuous, yet fresh minerally palate normally seen in Grand Cru Burgundy.  I’m so enthralled by this wine I’m opening another bottle tonight, I wish I could have bought more than my six bottle personal allocation.

Cellar-Aged Burgundy Clearance

Hi From Matt

This week, it’s all hands on deck at The Fine Wine Delivery Company as we hold our Famous End of Financial Year Wine Sale (Click here to be directed to the wine sale page of our website)

Meanwhile, during our March stock-take, I noticed we have a sizable parcel of 2006 Burgundies languishing in our temperature controlled cellar coming up to optimum drinking at 6 years old.  It’s sale week so I thought it would be a great time to make some room in the cellar, and find some happy homes for these beautiful cellar-aged Burgundies.

To clear them quickly and free up space for our imminent 2009 Burgundy shipment, I’m selling them for original cost.
