It’s with great pleasure that I am able to offer you one of the few six-packs allocated to New Zealand of Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2007.

At our recent Antinori Dinner at Toto Restaurant, this wine was the highlight for me.  As a huge fan of really good Chianti, this is the best value example I’ve tried and I’ve personally cornered a six-pack for home which I look forward to enjoying over winter.  What I love about top Chianti Classico Riserva is that it delivers wonderful deep cherry aromas, scintillating fragrance with a plush, deeply flavoured palate.  One of the most satisfying styles in the world of wine, it delivers similar pleasure to the best Pinot Noirs of Martinborough, Central Otago and north Canterbury.

I’m very pleased to offer you the stunning Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2006.

Lovers of Burgundy and indeed any great Pinot Noir should experience the silken texture and savoury textures of Brunello – the great red wine of Tuscany.  To say that this wine is an enjoyable tasting experience is a huge understatement, I opened it with the downstairs team last night and they were spellbound.   It has the beguiling complexity and sumptuous, yet fresh minerally palate normally seen in Grand Cru Burgundy.  I’m so enthralled by this wine I’m opening another bottle tonight, I wish I could have bought more than my six bottle personal allocation.

I’m very pleased to offer you the legendary single-vineyard Altesino Brunello di Montalcino ‘Montosoli’ 2006.

Brunello di Montalcino and Barolo are the most majestic wines of Italy.  While Barolo with its cru system and perfumed, minerally wines resembles Burgundy; Brunello Montalcino with its aristocratic structure and deep brooding complexity that deepens with age, is the spiritual twin of Bordeaux.  Sangiovese reaches its maximum ripeness here, giving fuller, richer wines than anywhere else in Tuscany.
